Love

This painting, simply called “Love,” is a cubist portrait of Svitlana, a Ukrainian woman I befriended in 2023. She’s in her early 50s, and this painting captures her essence so perfectly.

In it, she gazes back at me with those breathtaking blue eyes, and as she turns to leave, a wave of sadness washes over me. Her ruby red lips are so incredibly alluring, like ripe raspberries.

When I look at this painting, all I want is for her to be near me. I poured so much love and affection into every brushstroke that the entire process became an intoxicating experience. I believe I capturing her essence on canvas. I painted with layer upon layer to achieve the vibrant colors that reflect her spirit.

I’ve felt a sense of happiness when creating this portrait. It’s undoubtedly one of the best pieces of work I’ve done, a testament to the profound love and affection I feel for her.
